NEW CURRICULUM OF POST GRADUATE STUDENTS

FOLLOWING NEW CURRICULUM HAS BEEN ADDED FROM THE YEAR 2019/20 BATCH OF POST GRADUATE STUDENTS

The risk of operating the tea business has increased over the last two decades which is worsening and it is getting dangerous not knowing what might go wrong further. Since 1999 the Tea Industry has been facing a mismatch in the supply-demand chain. The demand in per capita domestic consumption of tea have slowed down during this period and exports have not grown proportionally to meet the output in production mostly contributed by the small tea growers in India. Competition from other competitive beverages, changing demographic and psychographic patterns of new consumers, growth of younger population, technology etc have been some of the reasons. This has resulted in a large amount of surplus of teas in the market making sale prices of teas stagnant and flat. However the cost of production has been increasing and a situation has arrived where the risks of operating the Tea business has multiplied.
